About this yoga & service retreat

What you will experience

A portion of your ticket will go towards all the materials and supplies needed to continue the work we started last year with the brand new turtle sanctuary we built. So not only will you help to fund this project, but we will work together to bring it into fruition. Every year thousands of turtles lay their eggs on shores near Playa Viva. However, due to exploitation, environmental degradation & poaching, many of species of turtle are now on the endangered species list. The turtle sanctuary at Playa Viva is completely volunteer run who not only manage and build the turtle sanctuaries, they patrol beaches throughout the night to help newly hatched turtles safely find their way to the ocean. These hatcheries have to be rebuilt every couple of years in order to avoid bacteria build up and infestation.

About the location

Playa Viva

Combining simple elegance with natural beauty and a commitment to improving the environment and the local community, Playa Viva is a sustainable boutique hotel located on the western coast of Mexico, just 35 minutes south of Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa International Airport. Nestled between the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean and the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains near the village of Juluchuca, Playa Viva is situated on a mile of pristine and private beach.

The property’s nearly 200 acres includes an estuary, an Aztec archeological site, a turtle sanctuary, and a coastal forest and mangrove ecosystem which supports an array of stunning wildlife. Playa Viva is close enough to the trappings of modernity yet worlds away providing immersion into the wonders of nature, and escape to utter private relaxation.

We Are Young Souls (WAYS)

WE BELIEVE IN CO-CREATING AS THE HIGHEST HUMAN POTENTIAL.

We Are Young Souls promotes self-study as a daily practice which enhances our relationship with ourselves and others. We seek to uncover the veils, to break away from fixed identities and belief systems. These beautiful ancient practices will create the fertile ground to live from our true nature, our most authentic self.
We've been living and teaching Yoga for the past ten years. Our main interest is to share Yoga as a Self-Healing Practice, allowing total transformation when used as a complete system. We all have the power to shape this life in whichever way we want, to expand our consciousness and to choose how we share our energy with the world.

When done whole-heartedly, anything is possible.

Sincerely,
Fer & Pao

Still Have Questions?

Please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions at all or if you would like to receive the schedule for this retreat. We would love to hear from you!

I came into this experience with unfathomable trauma, anxiety, depression and truly a loss of myself; yet, I left having redefined my self-love and self-care, strengthened my voice, and grown in love for another community and people. Through this week and all the experience beyond, I am learning that I truly am my own healer, hero and leader. Thank you for keeping my heart soft and until we meet again, may 109 continue to change the world with its presence, action and intention.

Caitlin Beauchamp109 Mexico

I'm so thrilled at there being more and more opportunities for women to come together and see how much power we have communally. It is important for our thriving and survival to create environments where women can form coalitions rather than put each other down (which is what culture has been telling us to do for so long). So we truly need that safe space.

Anastasia Standrik109 New York

This experience was so much more than I had expected. The professionalism around a difficult topic, the caring and supports in place for participants went beyond what I could have imagined. The yoga was again very professional, therapeutic but most of all fun! We became life long friends bonded by this mission and I believe that we will all come home and make a difference here in our communities as well.

Lindsay Baker109 Sweden

I was looking for several months for a trip that would help rejuvenate my mind/body/heart and help me stay on a purposeful and happy path in life. When I saw this trip I knew it was exactly what I needed, and 109 did not disappoint! The group of women were all genuine, supportive, and so fun. The personal growth from practicing yoga, learning Muay Thai, and raw conversation was exactly what I needed to experience on the beautiful island of Samui.
